Patricia Nell Warren

It is with great sadness to fans from around the world that beloved author, activist, and pioneer long-distance runner, Patricia Nell Warren lost her battle with cancer in the early hours of Saturday February 9th in Santa Monica, CA.

We would like to thank everyone for the amazing and heart-  warming messages that continue to pour in via email and social media from all who loved her. It is evident from those messages that she touched the lives of countless people globally.

In the weeks just prior to Warrens's passing, she was able to put the finishing touches on the 4th and final book in The Front Runner series. The Front Runner (originally published in 1974), along with its two sequels, Harlan’s Race (1994) and Billy’s Boy (1997), have all enjoyed a huge following. How fortunate her fans are that Warren has left us with a cherished gift of a final sequel to the series. Warren expended tremendous energy while fighting cancer to make sure this book was completed. It was her last labor of love and a gift to all of us.

It is obvious from outpouring of emotion by Warren’s fans upon learning of her death it is obvious that her legacy must be kept alive. There are costs involved with getting Warren’s latest book into print as well as keeping her other titles in print and available to her fans, both old and new. Warren had the dream of producing versions of her novels for film and television and that dream is still very much alive. Film/television versions of her novels will also be funded, in part, from the funds raised.

A GoFundMe account has been setup by Warren’s estate to help provide the funds needed to accomplish these tasks. Contributions large and small are dearly appreciated as they will help preserve Patricia Nell Warren’s legacy.
